GUIDED TOURS - HOKKAIDO and TOHOKU

Enjoy the round-the-clock support of a minimum of 2 trained guides; at least one of whom will be fluent in the Japanese language. They will bring Japan alive and smoothen the experience for you. One guide will also be a trained mechanic, on hand to solve bike issues.

At least one vehicle will be on tour with you, not only ferrying luggage to your next destination but also carrying refreshments and available in case you don't feel like you can make the last 15km up that hill!

Compared to other regions of Japan, the cooler climate makes cycling more comfortable in the warmer months and creates a long May – Early October season.

Our 11 day “Wild Hokkaido Explorer”, takes you from the World Heritage of the Shiretoko Peninsula in the east; through the Caldera lakes district, to the wilds and heights of Japan’s greatest national park, “Daisetsuzan”. Our 8 day “Playground of The Gods” tour is a circumnavigation of Japan’s largest National Park. It’s fittingly named  after the Ainu name for this majestic highland with its stunning peaks, lakes, active volcanoes, hot springs and wilderness.  Our new 13 day Tohoku “ Narrow Road to the Deep North” , is designed to follow on after our last Hokkaido guided tour finishes, making the most of the warmer autumn weather further south.  It takes you from the northernmost prefecture of Aomori, winding down the spine of the northeast region through mountain passes and around lakes, finishing in the World Heritage of the Nikko National Park.
